Wow, sounds like a pretty terrible experience... Can you give us any updates on this, OP? Being that I just recently acquired a $500 Audi (wish it was quattro..) 5-speed, I am looking in to egr delete in hopes that it might have something to do with my rough idle and poor response at low RPMs. Once the shorter plenums open up however, the car pulls great - usually. Went for a "spirited" drive yesterday, and ended up backing way off... the car was losing power very badly in the lower powerband, which it hadn't done since I got it about a week ago. It was sitting for 6 or 7 months, and before I filled up I dumped some SeaFoam (decarbonizer and lubricant) in to the tank. I've had great results with the stuff in the past, so kind of assumed it was doing it's job when the car started running better. Low and behold, about half a tank through and it starts acting up again. CEL isn't usually on, but does come on occasionally and disappears when the car is started back up. I'm new to Audis, but not that new to German cars or diagnosing and wrenching on things (I'm without a scanner, but can get a free reading to at least get a start). I'm still doing some searching, so I'm sure I'll probably end up making a thread on this board since I need to drive 1000 miles in a few days and the car absolutely has to make it... lol.
