My 88 80(2.0L), which is now almost 1 year past rebuild date, has a slow leak from the valve cover gasket. I should have replaced the studs when I did the rebuild, but didn't as they were fused tight in there. I think that bit of lazyness is causing this leak.. soo.. How do I get studs out without breaking them off and pissing me off in the process? PB Blaster, WD40, Kroil Oil? or do you have a better way? Also, do you recommend silicone on the gasket when replacing it? The current gasket is cork from a big kit I bought to rebuild the head. What do you recommend?
Thanks,
Tim

and see if that solves your problem. It's only $20 or so online. Just out of curiosity, why would the studs cause a leak? The gasket fits on both sides of them.

some of the nuts dont hold completely tight, so I had to stack 2 to get it to hold. It worked, but apparently not enough..
