Default Well, this certainly sucks ***. Heater blower....

After I took it apart and oiled, I thought I had it licked. It's really started groaning again. The noise is nerve-wracking! I turn it on for as long as I can stand it, then turn it off for awhile ('91 90). Gonna have to break down and order a new one. No problem, except I'm short on time. Have to cruise down to Cincinnatti for a funeral - ironically for the guy who I bought it from. Only 54 - colon cancer. His wife is also getting ready to turn in their leased 2001 A6 w/V8...and do I want to buy it from lease company? Sweet. Except that I don't really want car payments.

Question - I have the auto climate control - if I just disconnected the blower, would air flow in when driving? You know, like a manual system where on some cars you can just open up vents and turn up the temp?

Default $40 for a new one...about a 20-30 minute install.

I got mine from Rod at The Parts Connections.
Removed 4 bolts holding glovebox and 2 bolts from far right side of dash. It takes some manipulation, but is really simple. HTH.
