What does your gas cap look like?

Now that I think about it, mine doesn't say Audi on it either. I always wondered why Audi didn't have some type of holder for the cap when you're fueling. I guess its just me.

Thanks, I must have a non-oem one :-(
wonder why the PO would have gone with an after market cap when the OE is only 12 bucks (mine doesn't say audi, instead is has something else on it but i can't recall now)

No clue...I forget the p/n for the $12 one...the one that pops up in ETKA has some retaining strap..
...and is $30 or $40. Lemme look around for the one with the little lip to hang on the fuel door.

Yeah, even better than the red one you posted...those have failed me on emissions twice...
...once on my A6 and I think on my '93 90 (Denver Emissions used to test them)...

Black, locking, hangs on fuel door (early CQ).
