What kind of ecu there is in a 1990 cq coupe? Is it chippable?

I was wondering if the motronic in my cq is a obd0 or obd1 Is there a chip that can be installed that you can reprogram like hondata in honda's ecu?

Because the companies always say "works wonders" or some such thing, but it really doesn't do anything except drain part of your wallet.

...having the head, IM and EM polished, you won't notice ANY gains. Even then, you'd most likely still need a decent cam to extract what you can from the re-mapped ECU. At that point, you're into quite a bit of money. It's pointless, unless you really want to stay with an NA engine.

The CQ doesn't have Bosch Motronic. It has Hitachi MPI. Can it be remapped? Yes, but hardly anyone can mess with that particular Hitachi ECU (or the 2.8L 12v Hitachi unit). Also, to do it right would take a 4WD dyno, which is expensive to use.
Generally, I would stay away from any chip provider claming to have done one for a CQ or 90q20v. I haven't seen any that have done more than take money from your wallet, and put it in theirs.
