Channel locks and pullers.

Can I get pullers from autozone that will work on the audi tierods?

Thanks

Default the whole tie rod assembly or just the outter tie rod.

All i use is a wratchet and a hammer. If i use the forks to pry the tie rods off i end up ripping the boot. A large hammer works for me its easyer that way too. Just dont hit it to hard you mess up the threads. Oh and yes you can get the forks[cant think of there name right now] from autozone.

Default (homer)hmmmmmm, hammmerrr... (/hommer)

Well if some one hit it with a hammer and had success I guess I'll give it a try.. I have to remount the damn strut again but it's only two bolts.

thanks

Default I didnt mess the threads or anything it works really fine.

See the bottom of the tie rod is like a wedge and when you tighten the bolt it gets wedged into the hole and sticks there. The forks help pry it free but they normaly break the rubber boot. As much as i am messing with my suspension I cant afford new tie rods all the time. So i just use a hammer if i mess the threads ill just re-thread it. However iv yet to mess the treads. Also you have to hit it hard you cant be a sissy it wont work if you get all i dont wanna break something on it

You are more likely to bend something with a hammer ;-)
