I have a 2.2 KV 5 pot I'm trying to get running,
Doing a bit of a custom wiring job on it and need to know what voltage is supplied to the hall effect sensor on the dizzy, as I currently have 0.7v
.
Is it 5v or 12v?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers
Tim.

I had looked into this last year and seem to recall that 5 volts was "normal". However, this page shows that it might depend on which Hall Sender you have. The .7 volts that you had read might be normal for your sender.

I was having issues with the distributor in my 7A 5 cyl engine last year and ended up sending it to an outfit in the UK for a rebuild. They did a fantastic job and my '91 90q 20v is running better than ever.
Would you mind sharing what type of custom wiring you're doing?

Thanks for that info!!
However, with the current voltage, I'm not getting any rpm signal on my ECU software, nor spark.
On another note, I read in the Haynes manual that a minimum of 9v should be present, so I'm guessing that it should be ~12v.
It is a brand new dizzy, that I've seen work for a few hours in the past.
Sure!
I have a B4 80 chassis that was originally a 2.0 ABT, that now has a 2.2 KV.
The K-jet that came with the engine was beyond repair, as the whole block and trans had been in the rain for the past 15 years,
So I've rigged up an invent Jetronic EFI conversion, however the stock loom and 'ECU' (from the ABT) is still in place as I thought it would be dumb enough to let me do the swap with in it place.
Cut to yesterday, it no longer wants to send power to anything ignition related, hall sender and ignition module, as well as cutting power to fuel pump (despite having all this for a weeks when diagnosing things).
So working on a little switch board to provide power to these things, hence needing to know what to supply the sender.
