They won't last very long...

From the Guys I know with big bikes, the carbon tends to split when they get hot then cold then hot etc...

that would be due to improper resin...it takes a special high heat resin, which is available. my roommate had a CF can on his old CBR600F4. he's making a CF oval can for his new '02 GSXR750 with 6 layers of CF, plus high temp resin. end caps are aluminum. i doubt it will deteriorate for a while...
