What's the highest Torque rate/range requirement for our cars??
i'm looking for a torque wrench and don't want to over spend on something that's over the torque range that our car requires...Sorry for not having a Bentley..

Probably something like 130 lbs/ft on the hub bolts that keep the axle in...
That's my guess.
On everything except the engine, it's fairly safe to use the professional mechanic's 3 setting torque scale:
Loose --> Tight --> Really Fvcking Tight.
You should torque the wheels though. Uneven torque on the lug bolts can lead to warped rotors.

Re: Crankshaft pulley, at least on the 5cyl cars, requires over 250lb-ft of torque...
i would prolly send that type of job to a mechanic.. and oh, what's a more commmn drive, 1/2 or 3/4?
