White exhaust once engine warms up.

Hey guys. I mooched advice off of other threads with similar problems. I took the advice of many and replaced my coolant temp sensor. Started up the car and waited with fingers crossed. Nope! Same problem. Once the engine is warm, it starts puffing out white smoke from the back, and my engine temp gauge in the dash and my oil temp gauge in the console both stay at the coldest spot, like always. Bought the car 4 months ago and only rarely have I even seen the dash temp gauge go above minimum (to about 1/4). It is a 1995 Audi 90s Quattro.
Please help! Is this problem proving to be much more ... problematic for me?

Alright, just pulled codes. "2312" over and over again which means engine coolant temp sensor. Hmm, do I get the joy of looking for deeper electrical problems? Mind you, replacing this sensor was my first task at seriously working on a car.

and it still doesn't work properly. Every so often, the temp gauge will go up to the 1/2 way mark but that is a rare exception. Usually the needle stays pegged to the left. It hasn't seemed to affect operation of the car but it really annoys the hell out of me that the gauge isn't accurate. White exhaust sounds pretty normal to me and I doubt it would have anything to do with the MFTS. There should have been a recall on many of the components on these Audis including the MFTS, ignition switch, heater core, etc.
