Why would anyone want to leave the Solid Strut Mounts for Pro Mounts?

"99.99% of the time." Actually they "feel" better 100% of the time, but they dont perform as well that .001% of the time they're being used on a race track.
As I tell everyone; I LOVE my solid mounts but I LOVE Pro-Mounts even more 99.99% of the time. Besides, ignorance is bliss (and I mean that in the kindest way possible). Its easy to think solid mounts are better. Just NEVER drive a car with Pro-Mounts and you'll have no trouble maintaining that line of thought forever. Driving on Pro-Mounts however muddies those waters by creating an entirely new standard of comparison. You must also remember there was a time when many thought SSMs were gonna be the petulance of Audidom; disasterous to susupensions, hard, unforgiving, totally unsuitable for a street car, tortuous and savagely brutal little silver marauders that would wound/maim anything they touched. They were wrong. My perception was right then and ya gotta trust my perceptions are no less acutely sensitive and accurate today.
Best adivice to SSM-owners: steer clear of Pro-Mounts and you'll be fine (pun intended). "Tempt not/want not" But ya cant blame me if somehow, somewhere you manage to try them and find yourself like a growing list of SSM owners converting to "Pros." Besides this will just allow people that always wanted SSMs but couldnt afford them a more affordable opportunity to step into them. Then they too should avoid any Pro-Mount equipped cars that friends offer to let them drive. And so on and so on and so...
Heheheh, I never made these for "me" to drive on. I wasnt even looking for an alternative to SSMs. I was just attempting to make a strut mount that lasted longer. Well Mount-Savers came along then 40 or so OEM prototypes later I had an Pro-Mounts w/spherical bearings and Mount-Saver inserts and I made a HUGE mistake. I actually tried them. Not for long... maybe 38 miles and I went home and took them out immediately! They just couldnt be "that" good! A week later same thing again. Two weeks after that another test that lasted a week. Four weeks later and I did the permanent swap. And no one is more surprised than me. These were NOT supposed to be "that" good dammit!
Less money, better feeling, as-good performance (99.99% of the time), even stronger bearings than SSM's and lifetime warranty. What exactly is there "not" to love even more about these!?!
These are gonna be BIG! ;-)

be what it is today. And ya gotta know I love that opinion just as much as I love the feedback for Pro-Mounts.
I'm proud of and love all my children equally. I just spend more time with the newborn right now. But doesnt mean I dont love the older children any less.
