will a 1.8t bolt to the 20v and 12v trans?

all the I-5's had a 4.11 final gear and the v-6's were 3.89 on the 01a trans. your '89 should be a 4.11 as far as the rest of the gearing that does not really matter unless you are trying for times on the track. the 4.11 final gear would do nicely with the 1.8t but if you are going to go that far with it you might want to check out one of the vr6 options that can be thrown in there. the adapter plate is available through 034 motorsports. just my opinion...

The ABZ is the better choice, cost and availability wise. The PT and ABH (older, distributor ignition) V8's also work. I am putting a PT in my CQ with intake cams from a 5spd V8q (also a PT, but Audi used different cams in automatic and manual equipped V8q's that also had the PT code engine, 3.6L 32v). That is, if I can find the time to do so, engine is on my hoist, car is sitting engine-less, only need three parts to bolt it in.
PT - 1990-1991 V8q, 245hp
ABH - 1992-1994 V8q, 280hp
ABZ - 1995-1999? A8q, 295-300hp
I'd stick with one of those, honestly, not only for purchase price but maintenance cost. The "belt" 32v engines are cheaper to buy and fix than the "chain" 32v and 40v engines. The 3 I've listed all have been put in B2, B3 and B4 gen cars, and all bolt to the 01A (and 01E and even the 016 with a little modification). There is even a twin-turbo 4.2L 32v in a CQ (Marc Swanson). I think he used the ABZ engine for that, though you can turbo any of them. 034 Motorsport has Garrett-flanged exhaust manifolds for the 32v V8's, and they have mounts to bolt the ABZ into the B3 to make it pretty well drop-in. You still have to do your own exhaust work, intake work, get a radiator in there, etc. It requires low-profile electric fans for the radiator. The clutch units not only rob power but are typically longer than a low-pro electric.

Stick with a 32v, far cheaper and less complex than the 40v engines when it comes time to maintenance, especially the timing chain engines.
Also, there are ways to "easily" turbo the 32v engines, 034 makes manifolds, and it's been done in a B3 chassis already. You will eventually break an axle, but torque is good.
Why do you think I am going 32v V8 for my CQ?

Hey People...
I had one gentleman who got complete engine of 98 A8, and he said there would be no problem to stick it in to b4. Also there should be a manual to for the whole mod. of it. That's what I heard. My question is if anybody knows where I can get turbo headers for a 2.8 95 b4? That's what I think to do. I haven't seen one mod this way. I got a guy who has race pistons and cams, I'll see what I can do.
What I really care is a 4x4 diff lock. I love this thing. I want to keep that. It's grate in snow, and fun to play with.
Also where We can get a Aloey flywheel, or any perf clutch kit.
Thank You All 4 Help!!!
