Default window regulator

The cable broke on the drivers side window regulator. I was able to restring it, but it is not going all the way up. It seems that it can only go together one way? Has any one else tried this? Does anyone know where to get one that does not cost $300?

I will need to know what car you have but we can get you a great price on a new regulator. For example: 893-837-397-B $138.75 is for a 1990 A80/90. I am not showing the cable sold separately.

I replaced both rears on my car with used regulators I bought from eBay or people here parting out their cars. I think I paid less than $50 each time
You should check audifans marketplace too.

Finding used ones is a bit difficult. Ebay had one for the passanger but I need for the drivers side. Some guy emailed me that he has one in fair condition, and still wants 185 for it.

I sold 4-5 sets in the last few months.

And I did buy only wire from the audi dealer. But you have to insist.

Finally got right last week. Had to tell the regulator to reset. It will only do so many clicks up then so many down. Was able to restring it, bought the cable end crimps from lowes for about $15. It was a pain but got her done and works better then when I bought the car. thx for the help.
