Default Winter oil???

Currently I use Mobil 1 15-50 and it get's prety cold out at night. So when I go out in the morning to start my car it cranks for a very long time, I would guess 2 to 3 times longer in the winter. And when it truns over, it sputters before reaching regular idleing speed. I am assumeing that the oil would have something to do with this. But here's the kicker, Mobil say that their 15-50 flows like a dino 5-30 at winter weights so i dident see the need to switch over to a lighter weight, and plus i was reaping the benifits of a 50 weight at normal operating temptures. So i guess my question is this, is it better to have faster startup protection with say a Mobil 1 0w-30 and loose the 50 protection at normal temptures. Or have more startup ware beacues of a slower moveing 15-50 but reap the benifits of a 50 weight at normal temps?

Try 10w-30! Only use "0w" oil on newer engines that have been designed to run it! ;O)
