Default Wondering why random coolant loss happened a long time ago.

So, I was just thinking (and not having anything better to do in my Goodyear waiting room while my Blizzaks are being put on). 3 years ago when I was first re-constructing the front end of my car, I had just gotten the coolant system together. Brand new radiator and hoses, etc etc. Filled it and ran it for the first time, everything went great. Shut off the car and went to bed. In the morning, the car had emptied almost all of the coolant onto the garage floor. I could find no reason why, I didn't even know where it could have came from. It was a puddle directly below the motor. I re-filled and continued building the car/driving and have never had the problem since.

Any ideas what happened?

Did you overfill and the motor was just belching out the excess through the overflow tube?

No such thing as an overflow tube on these cars. Did you come from BMW's?
