Would a collapsed strut tower mount cause the top of the strut to sit up higher?...

I just put new bilstein/eibach's on my 90 (93 fwd) last week and now I have a knocking sound coming from front pass side. Upon further inspection I noticed that one struts is sitting higher than the other (looking at the top from the engine bay). It wasn't that way when I put it together... so I think maybe my new sporty suspension has already collapsed one of my new crappy oem mounts.
Does this sound possible? If so, where can I get a set of stronger mounts so I don't have to keep redoing this?

and you just tighten the top ring down on them. Any chance of using loc-tite to keep the ring tight?

Mounts have been ultrasonically cleaned with mold release agent removed, indexed and milled for center bore concentricity and bearings re-packed with synthetic grease. Also include hardened spacers, new CNC'd cromoly, zinc-plated slotted nuts and "lifetime guarantee" on street/race inserts AND mounts when purchased together (otherwise warranty is limited to insert only). One year warranty on off-road/ralley mounts tho again, lifetime on the insert. Bearing races engraved for authentication on all mount/insert "combo" kits.
