Default Wow, that's totally different.

Drove a 7A motor for the first time the other day.

90q20V sedan, and I was seriously impressed by a couple of things:

1.) A fresher clutch sure is nice. Nice, light pedal, low engage point.

2.) I was disappointed by the power, right up until 3800 RPM. Then it was a fscking' rocket. The power felt only slightly more than my 10V 80q until I got the revs up there, and then I was smiling pretty big.

3.) The brakes are actually pretty decent, stock. I'm used to Big Reds on my UrS, and the nice initial bite, and *right now* power. The brakes on this car were quite good, IMO.

4.) Ten-spoke Speedlines look good on this car. I think a little bit of a darker silver would look super.

Default Hey Silber..

The guy who sold me my 4kq back in 2002 who now owns that Glacier Blue 90 20v still has it. Its rarely driven though.

I had a few Audi techs tell me the same thing about the 7A and its power. Ive driven a few and IMHO it wasnt all that different than the 10v. Love the cars though, and the motor.

Default If you drove a 7A and it didnt feel much different from the 10v...

then something was seriously wrong with that 20v. Not to knock the SOHC brethren but I have drag raced an 88 80Q and 85 4000Q and made them look stupid silly for even trying. They were friends of course but regardless going back and forth from my 84 4kQ to my 91 90 20v is like going from an oldsmobile vista cruiser wagon in to a twin turbo-jet propelled go-kart....

My guess is the 7A you drove had a dead o2 sensor, needed a tune up, and trunk was full of cement.

Default Ahh, yes. The dreaded slippery slope.

You see, I have an UrS car. That is the car that's got all the go-fast goodies.

Oh, but I want to dream about modding my DD...

Default I'd love to get ahold of that Glacier one.

My wife would probably not approve, but damn...
