Default Yay - Kamei Grille installed, Dietrich Bumper awaiting installation..

The quality of the bumper is good, but there was some damage on it from shipping - the lazy bums tossed it around and the box was THRASHED when I recieved it.. Anyways.. here are the pics, damage and all..

Howdy! Looks like that fiberglass took a bit of beating on the way over.

Good Luck!

Default No - Greyhound!! *gulp*

So I partially blame the morons at PGperformance.. but as Mike said, its not a big deal, fiberglass is simple to fix..

Just annoying..

Default I should take a picture of the box...

The product itself is actually really durable.. but the box was literally crushed on all four sides.. the bumper was very well wrapped, but with that kind of damage, anything would break.. bleh..

Howdy! What shipping company was used? What type of insurance? At this point it may be a lost cause since you have accepted the shipment. On delivery of packages if there is massive damage always decline if the package is insured. This is quite a hassle, but something as fragile as a fiberglass bumper in a damaged box is not something you even want to touch with a ten foot pole.

UPS, FedEx, all the major carriers, air freight logisitics all use similar tactics to move packages around and these guys hammer on the packages. I've been in plenty of bonded warehouses to see these fellows in forklifts drag packages on the ground, drop large boxes from shelves, crane ops drop boxes from the top shelves, and so forth. Amazing what kind of a mess can be made when a forklift operator slams on the brakes and 5 crates of frozen russian sturgeon hit the floor on a 95 degree NYC day, what a smell.

Personally we've never received any damaged bumpers or large items via air freight, though everything has been packaged in such a manner that there was no possible movement of the bumper inside the box. If the packaging was subpar talk with the supplier. Immeadiatly note damage with the freight company if the package is insured, immeadiate action is important.

Good Luck!

Default Well, I wasnt home when the package arrived...

and my mother isnt exactly "qualified" to inspect, although she should have been smarter noting the amount of physical damage to the box.. the bumper was packed appropriately, Ive got no beef with the sales place as far as that is concerned, my big deal is with their choice of carrier - GREYHOUND?!

They just tagged it along in a bus from Vancouver to Toronto - hardly an appropriate way to ship a relatively fragile item..

I dont know if there was any insurance, but it couldnt possibly cost that much to fix the bumper, so Im not too concerned - the damage just put a damper on what was supposed to be a fun day - bumper arrival day!
