Audi replaced the entire DSG unit and the original was shipped back to Germany sealed. I'm disappointed that I'll never know what the cause of the failure was.

There was a high pitch gear whine in 1st-3rd gear and it was holding on to gears as if it were in sport mode when in "D" mode.
It was getting worse by the minute and probably would have stranded me sooner rather than later.
I just wish I could have had a detailed explanation as to what failed and why rather than "Wow! This is the 1st DSG we've ever seen that failed!"

...until I cushioned my quarters in the ashtray.
Then there's this clicking noise in the gauge cluster, every time I redline the engine and the tach needle has nowhere else to go.
Finally, there's an annoying hissing sound when I check the tire pressure and the gauge doesn't seat right.
Other than that, just deafening silence.
