$79.00 Oil change??

Thanks
Ok thanks for all the replys. I will take it to audi from now on. But couple things to ease everyones minds. It was not a jiffy lube but a jiffy lube like place, which im sure dosnt make much difference. I sat in the car while they chaged the oil, and watched them open new bottles of castrol synthetic oil, and put it directly in the car. I know its not over filed because they show you the dip stick after your start the engine and then shut it back off. The only thing i didnt see was the oil drain and the filter replaced so....i could have a stripped oil plug and no new filter, but no oil is leaking from my car so far.
Once again, thanks for the reply's.

5-40W?
Was the oil 5-40W or was it whatever they happened to have around? 5-40W is the only Castrol Syntec oil that meets spec. Check the link for a list of qualified oils.

Oil

So you buy a 30K+ car and complain about a $55 oil change? FYI...
Synthetic oil is about $6 a quart. Not sure the oil volume of the 2.0t or 3.2 but in my 1.8t it's 4.5qt's with the upgraded filter...
So that's $30 for the oil, and at least $8 for the filter.
So right there for materials you are at $38 bucks. So they are only charging you $17 for the labor of changing the oil, Filter, and resetting your service interval.
*SMACK*
Don't be a cheap ***. Take care of that beautiful A3.
BTW, this is what the threads from the oil pan looked like on my wifes Jetta. The Previous Owner took it to Jiffy Lube each time he had it serviced apparently...and after they stripped the threads once, the used an impact wrench to seal it up so it wouldn't leak the next time... I had to replace the Oil Pan 3 weeks after buying it...

Truly ugly...
having those threads in there...it's like a disaster waiting to happen if you neglect it too long!
Everyone's right about not skimping on an oil change. If you want to skimp, DIY is the best route.
