Default 1999 Audi A3 1.8T Rear Passenger Footwell Leak

Hi Everyone,

I came on here as ive recently noticed that when it rains heavily and my car is parked outside, water is getting into the passenger footwell behind the drivers seat. Theres not a visible puddle of water but the carpet is completely sodden. The rear passenger side behind the front passenger seat is damp but no where near as wet as behind the drivers side

Its a 3 door 1999 A3 1.8T and it has a sunroof. Both the front driver and passenger footwells are dry.

I poured some water down the windscreen earlier today as its stopped raining and the water ran down the windscreen and out the drain points on either side of the car no problem.

Any idea on what could be causing water to get into the back passenger footwell?

Cheers
Tom

Sounds like one or both of the rear sunroof drains may be blocked.

Any idea how this can be checked on this model?

The standard repair tactic is to blow pressurized air into the tube(s).

Or you can run a wire (such as inner cable of a speedometer drive cable). It should be > about 90".
