Default That's not technically a chip, but a revised controller unit. That's what I was referencing.

Reports from owners appear to be very favourable. Of course take care to do the maintenance on the Haldex unit itself at least as often as recommended by Audi, if not perhaps somewhat more frequently.

Default Haldex fluid and filter. Every 40K miles I think. There are 6 clutch plates @$200 a pop in there.

So if you had Haldex would you buy the new controller? I'm thinking about it.

Absolutely! If you don't like it, I'm sure you can resell it for only a small loss.

Default I always thought that most AWD cars were banned in motorsports because it puts non-AWD at a

non-AWD cars at a disadvantage. 1st they started with weight penalties then all out banning. At least they still have WRC.

I have experience on both quattro systems.

TT - Haldex GEN1
S4 - Torsen
A3 - Haldex Gen2

The haldex feels much better than torsen. Also the weight redistribution is typically better on the Haldex system. Since torsen is 100% mechanical in can only transfer 60 or 70% at the most to where traction is. Haldex can transfer up to 100% and only need a few degrees of rotation (1 rotation is 360 degrees) to react. This is actually GEN1 info. I believe GEN2 is better at handling wheel slip.
