My 2006 A3 is a real stripper and did not come with paddle shifters for the DSG, which is a shame.
I bought a 'shifter' 2007 a4 s line sport steering wheel. Photos attached.
It did not come with all the internals.
Can I use my 'internals'?
If not, what parts do you need to get to make it work on my A3?
I have full VCDS (I assume softcoding will be required).
Current steering wheel:

New 2007 A4 S line wheel:

Took 4 spoke off and installed 3 spoke S Line:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Zn...1eICvrbL7CZ6v6
Removed the old air bag and plugged back in. It ALMOST fits into the new steering.
The old softcoding was 0010022
The new should be (???)
001 (automatic) unchanged
2 (multi for radio), see photo above
1 (+1 shift paddles)
2 (w/o board computer with cruise control), unchanged
2 (rear wiper) unchanged
0012122 new
0010022 old
Tested, not working. VCDS shows a code ("Multi.. not working").
Any other changes required to activate paddles and the multifunction controls on the wheel?

How is the steering wheel controls (paddles, buttoms, etc) 'communicating' with the car?
Am I missing connectors/pigtails (my steering wheel did NOT come with any)?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LSJ...ew?usp=sharing
If so, how are they called, where might I be able to get them?
Photos how they look like, where they connect to?
