I noticed a week a piece of rubber hanging down on the passenger rear door. This is not the seal on the body but rather the seal on the door itself. When I touched it pretty much fell off. I was surprised at how dry and brittle it was. So I took pictures of the driver side rear door and it wasnt in much better shape.







I am trying to understand if this seal is one part that goes around the whole door is it two parts.

Anyone know what is the part number/numbers? I have done seals in the past is it hard to replace?

I posted this a while ago and nobody had an answer.

Had my A3 in for service this week and I asked the dealer to look at it. Apparently that plastic rotting out is part of the lower plastic trim on the outside of the car.

To repair it they would need to replace the entire lower plastic trim on the outside of the car door and it would need to be painted to match. The dealer said the cost would be outrageous and the paint not match exactly. I told them to leave it alone.

So thats that....
