Default 2008 A3 Thump
When I go over a bump I hear a thunping sound. It sound like a loose spare bouncing around but it is not. Any ideas on the cause?

Could be the cargo cover behind the rear seat. Take it off and see if the sound is still there

I had a similar noise in my A4. Turned out that the guys who replaced my battery never strapped it back down.

The battery for the 3.2 is in the rear, the 2.0 is under the hood

I never understood this difference. It should be in the back on all A3

i'm sure it has to do w/ the 3.2 having less engine space from the extra cylinders
