Hi there,
I have a white 09 A3 Quattro (DSG, S-line) that suddenly started exhibiting the following problem: While driving, but more often when stopped, the car will drop out of gear into neutral. The gear selector indicators will start flashing and the message "Press brake to put in gear" (or something akin to that) appears. You have to put the car back into park and then back into drive before you can start moving again. If you don't and you press on the accelerator, all it does is rev the engine like you are in neutral.
It sounds like a computer issue verses mechanical, but I am curious if anyone else has heard about this problem.
Thanks
Nick

Sounds like a Mechatronics(DSG computer) issue. I would take it in to your dealer immediately so you don't stall out in the middle of a left hand turn. You might or might not get codes thrown though. When my mechatronics unit broke in my car, there were no codes. I had different symptoms than you, but I suspect that it's the same problem. GL.

I did have it drop out at a light, and of course, it turned green.

Car kept on shifting hard into gear. Clutch felt like it was engaging and disengaging itself while coasting on the highway. Hope they get everything fixed.

Brought my car to service for the same reason. Felt like I was getting rear ended each time I got to a red light or let go of the brake. They just received the mechatronics doohickey today after a two week wait so hopefully I can pick it up today or tomorrow.

Is there any contact details for suppliers on audi a3 2009 model 1.8 gas engine s tronic mechatronic unit. I need to be contacted by an audi expert somehow my local dealer cant explore the possible fix on my car. The car starts everything is functional except that it is not selecting gears so it immovable.
