Hello all,

My first post on here. Been shopping for a new car this week. I've always wanted an Audi A3 TDI 2.0 Wagon and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this model. Took one for a test drive and loved it. Just concerned about cost of repairs/parts/maintenance etc. I've been driving a VW Jetta for 13+ years. The one I'm looking at has only 65,000 kms (41,000 miles) on it. Any feedback would be very much appreciated with regards to this model. Thanks for your time

It's a good car. My girlfriend had it and it seemed to perform solidly. It's pricey like all German cars but the quality of those cars are high end so you don't need to worry about that

Thanks! Were these Audi's also part of the VW emissions scandal?

Sorry, looks like I'm way behind on all this. I've been researching the whole emissions scandal today and it looks like this model was involved. I guess that explains why there are dozens of TDI's in the "for sale" listings here. I'm located in Canada (Toronto area) I will search this forum for more information. I still really want the car, but I've heard they are troublesome after the software "update"

After more research, it looks like this particular 2012 A3 had the emissions mod done in 2017 at 61,000km. There's only 65,000km on it now. It's covered under extended warranty until Sept 2023 or 143,000km. Anyone experienced issues with this model after the modification?

I own 2012 A3 TDI with the modifications done. A3 runs great and gets excellent mpg. Much better than my truck.
