Hi Folks,
Just picked up a 2018 RS3, and I'm absolutely in love, except for the stereo. It has the B&O audio package, and frankly it sounds pretty bad. I came from a GTI with the Fender audio package which was honestly half decent for a factory audio system. Sure I can just drive around listening to the engine and exhaust, which is a treat in itself, but I'd like to get this thing sounding at least reasonably decent. It seems to completely lack midrange and struggles at medium-high volumes. The volume doesn't bother me too much as I'm not usually one to blast music in the car, but the lack of midrange is a stinker.
Has anyone found a decent configuration for this that masks its weaknesses, or should I look into replacing the system with something else? Right now I have the surround all the way off, sub about 4-5 ticks up, but I can't seem to get much of a sweet spot out of the bass and treble dials. I don't think I have whatever "3d sound" is, because there's no option for it in the sound settings. I've seen some people recommend pulling the fade back a bit towards the rear of the car, which helped a little bit, but the overall lack of midrange is still there.
