I'm not sure as to the warranty situation, but I know I'll be going with the APR Stage 1 tune here in the next couple months. Planning on doing both at the same time, but if I don't I'll do the TCU tune first to make sure the powertrain is prepared to handle the ECU tune.
APR TCU UPGRADE - 6 SPEED DSG AND S TRONIC (DQ250) (MQB)
APR ECU UPGRADE - 2.0T EA888 GEN 3 IS20 (TRANSVERSE) (MQB)

Hi. I just picked up a 2020 A3 myself. I love it so far, and I am usually a manual only guy. The 7 spd can handle up to about 320 torque, so be aware of that when you upgrade. From my reading over the past 2 months, Unitronic seems to offer a great tune. It’s the one I will be getting in future. I’m going to get their Cat-back exhaust soon - it sounds great. But that’s just my opinion. Good luck choosing.

Any tune will void the factory warranty, and as far as I understand it, any Audi tech will know you’ve had it even if you remove it before you go in. I think APR offers a kind of 1 year warranty, but I’m not sure if it will actually help. Claims are always a pain once you change anything. I usually spend my money on tires, exhaust, brakes, suspension, and appearance until the warranty runs out - then it is tuning time!
