Default 55k mile service quoted at $680!

Ouch. Anyone else here have this service done? Seems a bit high but was told this is a fairly significant servicing and will be provided with a loaner vehicle as it takes nearly a full day.

Default I've think 35K and 75K mile service are the expensive ones; at least for 3.2

Since they include spark plug replacement, DSG and Haldex fuid/filter replacement. 75K mentions timing belt replacement for the 2.0T.

Looked at the Maintenance booklet for the 55K mile service and it has more checks, but nothing that requires replacement.

Default Oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter, spark plugs, fluids, diagnostics, brake check,

and miscellaneous other checks. It's a 3-4 hour job according to the service writer. In addition I will get reamed on another coolant leak issue I've recently discovered. They're charging me another $600 or so to replace the O-ring/flange. Evidently this is a 3-3.5 hour job as well. At least they're providing a loaner vehicle for free though that is typical for customers that still have a warranty which I do not.

Default Yeah a lot of little checks. I already had my DSG fluid change at 35k miles IIRC.

That was covered under my service warranty luckily.

Default Re: 55k mile service quoted at $680!

I was quoted $900.00 in sunny California, as the first maintenance that I have to pay for (coverage ended at 50K)
I started to look into it, the only thing that needs to be done is replace is all the filters, engine oil and brake fluid. No spark plugs as it is a 3.2

I decided to do it my self so I just order OEM parts and spend 100.00 in parts, I wonder if it really was 800.00 in labor.

By the way, I haven't bought the oil yet, is it OK to use Mobil1 in a 2007 A3 3.2?

Default Yeah...Ripoff They do pollen/air/oil filters tire rotation and computer diagnostic.

I bought my oil/pollen/air filters from ECS tuning and had my buddies shop put it in for me all in all it cost me around $120 or so. I got new tires so I didnt need them rotated. If theres no check engine light or the car is running fine, why do I need a $200 computer diagnostic to tell me my car is fine? Getting work done at the dealer is like bending over and getting it dry.
