Can anyone help me please?
I've had a noise coming from near the timing belt when idling upto 2000 Revs. It sounded pretty obvious to be the timing nelt.
I've had the timing belt, fan belt and tensioners changed but now the noise is even worst.
The mechnic now thinks its a drive chain on the opposite side of the engine block.
Has anyone had a simliar problem and what do you think the problem area is?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I've had some more advice...it seems the engine has two cams. Once is driven by the timing belt and the other by a chain on the opposite side of the timing belt. I'm told the tensioner on the chain side is the problem area which is causing a noise on the timing belt side. The vibrations from the chain is causing a sensor near the timing belt to rattle at low revs.
Not sure if this is exactly the problem but the cars going in to another "specialist" tomorrow after 6 days off the road and ?300 later!
