Hi fellow Audi A3 enthusiasts. I currently have an A3 1.8T S on order in the UK. Is there anyone in the same situation? If so, do you know if the updated model comes with front fog lights as standard or not. Also does it still come with 16 " 'competition' Alloys?

From what I understand if you have a 2001 on order you will definately have both, what colour and extras have you decided on.

Cheers for replying. I have gone for Metallic Silver. The only options I have gone is the 6 CD Autochanger and automatic transmission. I guess your A3 is a German version or import. What colour have you got? and what year is yours?

I like the new ellipsodial lights. I believe also that the steering wheel has changed slightly and the sport seats too. What do you think of the facelifted model?

no mines an English one, it's a '99 in Volcano Black Pearlescent, like the lights etc, but don't think the steering wheel is an improvement.

I went for automatic transmission because I can only drive automatic. I never learned how to drive with manual gears haha. This is due to slight disability reasons, that's all. I am in Yorkshire. This is my first ever Audi. I do hope it lives up to all my expectations. I'm sure it will...

John, I went to the showroom today and managed to spot a revised model. The seats etc are different, not staccato anymore, looked ok though. Lights etc look cool. The steering wheel looks the same with a bit of added aluminum trim. Oh, also it donned some new wheels, no longer are they competition ones. They looked a bit like the Avus style? - on the S3 but smaller. I still prefer the competition ones though. I think a new dash has been introduced too.

Silver, with silver/onyx staccato seats,6 disc auto changer, roof spoiler and no rear badges.
I am sure you will enjoy, even if you are a Yorkshireman!

I imagine it's quite a good engine for the Auto box, as it has quite a wide powerband unlike some other turbo motors.

As long as the auto box is programmed to keep above 2500rpm it should be good fun, nice and relaxed with good pace.<p>David
