That is the question. I did a $ for $ comparison of what is included with the A3 3.2 S-line with the 2.0 Sport package. This is the price comparison. (Updated)
A3 3.2 Sline = $33,980 w/DSG
A3 2.0 Sport = $29,595 w/DSG + sound + conv
Delta = $4385
A3 S-line also includes following
- Quattro
- 3.2 250 HP engine
- Sline badging and bumpers
- Power drivers seat
- Excaliber wheels (ugly!)
So is all of this stuff worth $4385?
Considering it's going to take what $1000 to bump up the A3 2.0 to ~ 250 HP we're talking $3385 difference. And I DON'T have to VOID my factory warranty.
Plus, the body work for front/rear bumper from Caractere is $700 (F) $500 (R) = $1200 and throw in installation and we're talking what $1500 total.
So the difference is now $1885. Is Quattro worth $1885? YOU BET!
Now, if we're talking comparing the A3 2.0 to a 300+ HP ABT AS3 that's a whole different story!!!!! Any idea of the cost here?
DECISIONS DECISIONS. Any advice?

the 2.0t but if you were already planning on getting DSG, I think its fairly worth it. However, one thing you should keep in mind, the pricing isn't directly comparable as you'll probably be able to get better deals on a 2.0t than a 3.2. The adaptive headlights aren't a good thing IMO. Drove an A4 with em awhile ago. Kinda made me disoriented and I didn't feel as if they turned quickly enough.
Keep in mind that Haldex-Quattro has more maintenance. IIRC its a ~$100-200 or so haldex fluid change every 15k. Then again, I guess it would be covered under the free maintenance for 50k.
