Is the 2.0T in the Audi A3 the same as in the VW GTI, Eos, and Jetta? Let's just talk about 2011 models to keep this simple. I know the A4 2.0T is different.

Yes they're the same CCTA/CBFA engines.

Do the newer models have the same tendency to burn through oil that the older ones did? I'm asking on behalf of a good friend with a 2007 Eos who's considering a 2010 A3 or GTI. His Eos tends to go through oil much more aggressively then you'd consider "normal". Thanks!

We bought a 2011 2.0T Quattro A3 in July 2011. To-date we have put 6000 miles on the vehicle and it has not burned a drop of oil.

No, my deceased 2006, with through about 1 qt every 5k miles; my 2009 uses maybe 1/2 qt every 10k miles. Different engine, timing chain (2009) versus timing belt (2006), among other changes (i.e. oil filter is now located at the top left of the engine, pop your hood and there it is.)
