My 1998 AŁ has a Concert head unit and a sub in the n/s boot compartment. Near this sub is a lead terminating in a multi pin plug that is carefully clipped out of theway and not in use. Is this the wiring for the CD changer? If so can I connect an aftermarket changer to this lead or do I need to run a new lead to the head unit?

the cd changer cables is located in the right wall of the trunk.

you can't just connect it to aftermarket cd changer. it's because of different pins or different program.

but you can use it to drive panasonic cd changer by adding the interface. check yahoo auction for it. costs about $230

yep you can.. but you need a converter to fit an aftermarket cd changer.... I have virtually have the same car, and gone for a Panasonic CX-DP9061 (really good chager with anti shock!) and a CD Changers and Interface from

got the chager for around 160 from some internet place can't remember where..

Hi All

I have an A3 2003 Sports Quattro and I am trying to fit a multi cd changer. I would like to fit an Audi changer rather and purchase a converter lead.

Could somebody inform me of where the standard changer would fit ( in glove box or boot ) if a cable is already there and which model number would be compatable.
