Default Re: A3 front speakers

depends...in indonesia i had my A# set-up for about Rp.4.5mil ('bout 325pounds) including replacing all speakers, front-speaker fitting, sub box, monstercable RCA's, streetwire cables, acrilics, and cosmetics. check my picture poster (just click my account number)

as for the speaker brands and models...that's depend on many categories: price, type of music, size, series, power handlings, etc...

but just for reccomendation: dynaudio, focal, a/d/s, dls, diamond audio, image dinamics, scan-speak, vifa, etc... the list goes on and on.

the best way is to listen as many as you can in audio shops....see what's best for you

hope this helps a bit....

A3 2001 had 4'' front speaker hole.
Can you tell me if the 2002 model has the same hole or has been enlarged ?

Thanks.

A3's have 5.25" front speakers... and 6.5" rear speakers.
MQ Quart are really good.

Phat_rims, what rims do you have exactly? they look pretty sweet. Are they split rims? (2 piece)

Cheers

Default 2002 A3 speakers: front is 4", rear is 6.5" take a look of the pic....

you can use 5.25" in front but you had to use MB Quart adapter or have it custom made by MDF or something...

Default hmmmm...so much for the spec-down

may be because the facelifted model had different door handle than older version....

anyway....5.25" in a 2002 A3 is doable

Default 6.5 rear speakers are they active?

Can you swap out the rear speakers in 2002 A3/S3? It be useful if the new speakers can use exsisting mounts.

I thought the rears were active speakers with a small amp near?

I want to replace the rears with some Kappa Infinity 6.5 inch'rs and power them with a 2 channel 100w amp. Everythings in the boot easy.

Want about taking the active sub out of the boot too? Want to replace that with vibe active. No sense in having two. Special when the vibe's a 400w monster.
