Default A3 head unit replacement, radio signal issue

Hi all

After changing my concert hu to a Jvc one, I'm not getting any radio signal. On the back of the concert, we had a normal radio aerial lead, and a fakra (?) Connection. I've connected them both independently to the back of the Jvc hu, using an adaptor ith the fakra to make it a normal aerial connection.

I cannot get anything but fuzz from either fm or am. Cd player works fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The wire for the radio amp is not in the block, so,guessing there is no amp for this.

The signal is great on the concert hu. I've taken the fakra cable out and it works just fine with just the aerial cable. So I presume the Jvc hu should do the same.

I'm totally out of options and spent hours on the forum but can't find any solutions.

Can you help???

IIIRC one connector is the antenna and the other is for power to the diversity antenna amplifiers/switching units. You might want to check out www.audiforum.us for antenna info.

Thanks for that. So I would need to have both connected to get a reasonable signal?

I see there are adapters for sale, but if my Jvc only has an antenna output I doubt I can do it.

As I understand it the adapters provide 12V power for the amplifiers.

Perhaps you should take it to a stereo shop. They should be familiar with Audi radio replacements.

Ahhh, I have seen radio adapters with an additional blue cable. That would explain it, as the blue cable would be attached to the power and provide 12v down the line.

Thanks again!
