Default A3 w Sport Package, Bi-Xenon Headlights and Convenience Package

I tried to order an A3 with the Sport Package, Bi-Xenon Headlights and Convenience Package and was told that you can not have the Headlights and Convenience packages with the Sports package. It has to be one or the other (convenience or headlights) Anyone know if that is right?

Thanks

I have one. Everything works fine, not sure it's a technical limitation or just marketing.

Default Supposedly an issue w/ Homelink transmitter & xenons

Evidently the Homelink transmitter is located near the left headlight and the heat generated by the xenons was damaging/interferring with the Homelink. That's at least what was reported on this and various other boards as 2nd hand info from some Audi folks.

Last I checked, you can order the xenons and Conv both with the Premium Package. Not entirely clear to me why this would be, if the above is true perhaps the suspension components w/ Sport pkg require different placement of the Homelink and/or HID components. If you want Bluetooth and Sport (as I did) the Convenience Package is required so had to delete my xenons when I ordered back in July.

Default xenons run cooler than halogens . . . homelink transmitter has always been contained in the

sunvisor.

I have not used Homelink. So can't say that works fine.

Default I believe the actual RF transmitter is near the headlight

... and the visor just houses the control buttons for Homelink. That's why the manual suggests you place your garage door clicker adjacent to the headlight when you are programming codes.

Default That's odd, never seen that before.

Just checked my manual and you are right; however from the picture, it seems that the transmitter is located underneath the xenon. Heat travels up . . . the transmitter is located at the front center of the bumper whereas the xenon bulb is on the back upper outer portion of the bumper. If anything, it might get a little heated up by the high beams, not the xenon . . . . which runs cooler than a halogen anyways.
