Default About ABS

This is to discuss something about ABS. My car is an Audi A3. When I apply the brakes normally, I think it is not smooth. The stopping distance is more than normal. Is my ABS module bad? What are the common symptoms of a bad ABS control module (EBCM)? I read some information regarding ABS here The Importance And Function Of An Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) | Service Plus 416 : Toronto Automotive Garage. Even though getting helpful replies from experts would be helpful

You ABS should only engage in emergency or hard braking, and when it does should "pulsate" the pedal and create an audible, repetitive "thumping" noise. 99% if something is wrong with the ABS system you will get a warning light as the computer is in complete diagnostic control (but not fool-proof).

Have you experienced the ABS activated on a slippery road so you know how to identify when it is activated? When you stop and it is not smooth and has long distances as you describe, do you think the ABS system is activated on dry pavement under light braking for no reason? This would indicate a problem with the ABS. However a stuck brake pad or caliper or damaged brakes from over-heating could all be reasons that describe your concerns and would not be ABS-related issues.
