All season tires for A3

Hi Everyone,
I just bought a 2007 A3 with only 12,000 miles on it (you read that right). My problem is that the tires on it are incredibly loud and a little shaky at certain high speeds. Pretty sure they have a few flat spots, re: 12000 miles. I was thinking about getting the Conti extreme contact DWS, but at my wheel size (225/45/R17) the load rating is only 91 SL, where as the stock is 94 XL. Does anyone have experience with the conti's, or maybe someone could recommend a good all season tire? Also does anyone know if going down to a 91 load index really matters?
Thanks!

I've had the continental extreme contact DWS's on my car now for about a year because of a killer deal. They replaced a summer specific tire. Good all round all season tire and not a lot of noise obviously doesn't perform as well as my summer tires for handling but it is still pretty decent. The wear seems to be doing okay but too early to tell. Assuming the wear is okay and I can get a good deal on them I'd buy them again.
I don't remember what load rating is on our tire so someone else will have to vouch for it.

I will second the DWS. I just bought my second set. They only last about 20K, but they are pleasant to live with throughout their life. Mine wore evenly and they were quiet and round until they were worn to the indicators. I previously had a set of Bridgestone pole position all seasons and the continental extreme contact summer tires.

I agree with the Extreme Contact DWS. The Bridgestone potenza pole position would be my second choice. I also like the Michelin Pilot Sports. They also have very low noise.
Good Luck!

I ended up getting the pirelli p zero nero all season and they are great. Tire rack has them with an xl load rating. Grippy, quiet, not too expensive.
