Default Thanks to all!...We are looking forward to our move...

...as my wife's twin sister lives there with her family and we've spent a good deal of time there but want to be sure it's right for us. We enjoy more of a "diverse" environment and neighborhood where we live now and always have. That said we're looking at the Hillcrest area (or nearby). Does that sound about right? I must say the one thing I am NOT looking forward to about California is having to put a front plate over my Oettinger grille with the move!!!

Default Regarding the front plate in SD...

A front plate is required, however I have been without a front plate on my TT for the past 5 years, and have never been stopped.

I've either been lucky, or it is a low priority for the SD Police. I work downtown, so I am always seeing patrol cars.

Take a chance.

Default Not wanting to scare you off or anything, but...

It seems like every other night, there Hillcrest is in the local news...and not always for the postivie, uplifting stories.

I live in Coastal North County, so I'm pretty isolated from all that.

As for the front grill, about seven years ago, I was stopped by the CHP going south on I-5 for not having a plate on the front. Fortunately, I told the officer that my car was just repaired for a front end accident, so he just told me to get it on asap. Good luck if you decide not to put one on.

Default ohhh really? (on the front plate)...I had considered not putting one on...

..do you still not have one on? Anyone else "living dangerously" like that? I know it's a silly little thing but I LOVE how the custom grille looks so clean and, well....
