Any possible OEM brake upgrades for the A3?

Rotors are not avail in the US and have a diff offset than the S4 counterparts.
Calipers are identical to the ones used on the B6-B7 S4 B7 A4, but the part numbers are slightly different.
Shipping all this stuff from overseas would likely be expensive and the extra weight and size of the rotors would hurt vehicle performance.
My .02, save up for a quality BBK. In the meantime, do a pad and fluid upgrade when pads become avail.

slightly different. IIRC it was the chassis code (first three).
You should ask 3dra33.2 . . . on fourtitude (french guy who has the 3 door A3 3.2) and i'm sure he'll forward you all the info we looked at. I just don't have the info anymore because fourtitude IM deletes the IM logs after 10 days apparently.

ANY difference in part number = a different part. It doesnt matter what the difference is.
8e0-698-151
4b3-698-151
8d0-698-151
4e0-698-151
1k0-698-151
Hey they must all be the same because the numbers look alike. Must be right.... or maybe not. That 1K0-698-151 kinda looks like 8e0-698-151 I mean 6 of the 9 places are the same.
They are all front brake pad sets... thats as much as you can derive from the simmilarities in those part numbers. Assuming anything more is being inaccurate. There is a difference, it may not be apparent to you, but there is one.

that style single piston caliper.
The rotors have similar part numbers but differ greatly in offset. I'm not sure about the mounting holes for the calipers but they are the same type caliper. Supposedly the A3/B6/B7 S4 and B7 A4 with that style caliper have the same FMSI backing pad dimensions but i stopped pursuing this route after I found out that the rotors were not avail in the US.

the larger rotors will be available then.
It is likely that you can use any 5x112 rotor you want... so long as the offset of the hat isnt too large and sets the rotor too close to the strut assembly. If you are making up custom brackets to adapt multi piston calipers or if you are having custom rotor hads made up for use with a speciffic rotor ring, then there are plenty of options.
