Anyone else think the roof rails should at least be offered as an option?

Not sure about installation hassles, but if there is a market, Josh will bring in the stuff and sell it at a fair price.

My wife and I would really like to have an A3 to go along with our allroad but we may have to go with an A4 avant just because of the roof rails. We do prefer the looks and overall sportiness of the A3.

does not want people to think of it as an A3
or a Station wagon.
It is not. It is a 5 door Hatchback.
You cannot market it as a Station wagon..

I think Audi has been quite successful as a purveyor of premium sporty wagons in the SUV-crazed US. The desirability of a premium hatchback in the US market is still questionable. I personally think that wagons are starting to catch on in the US as an better alternative to truckish SUVs.
