I remember when this forum was really good, we used to have good technical discussions, now it's all 'options on S3?' or 'what colour?' or ' A3 in states when?' can't we get back to the nitty gritty and leave the ooh you haven't got an 'S' so I'm going to ignore you, we had that once before but they stayed for about a week. Alot of the boys from the early days are posting less and less often because the topics are generally so mediocre. I'm not the only one who's pissed about this I'm just the only one who'll put his foot in his mouth to say it, anyone who's going to flame me try scrolling back a few pages and see how much more lively this place used to be compared to how it is now.

As an A3 driver I share your point about the "s".snobbery but somehow I think Deek maybe joshing here? I'm not going to start pooring petrol...but don't you aspire to own an S3?

Furthermore attention to detail in repect of what options people have (maybe foolishly) gone for are important.
For instance I'll readily admit to choosing sunroof over climte control on my T Sport when this was an option - so what I guess I'm saying is that discussions re options are important, perhaps exterior colour/brushed aluminium wing mirrors may be less so but still choice is a personal thing and many may not realise they even have this choice..
Anyway (not lighting the match underneath the puddle), if there is technical discussion to be had as well - bring it on...

A3/S3 build quality crap compared to A4/S4, I'd rather spend the same money on a 2nd hand S4 than an S3, plus wouldn't have to suffer haldex and also S4 can be chipped to 350bhp so until then I'm very happy with my A3, so thats a no then.

Since you are the guys who own these cars (A3's and S3's) newbies like myself are after some help and guidance about what looks good on cars 'WE' have only seen in showrooms or brochures. Obviously those messages might get tedious to long term members but we have to start somewhere.

As for being anti S3 because a number of people are getting one - why?? Its only an A3 with a few mods!!!!

My old man has just retired and has gone for the A6 2.7 Q - v tasty...can't imagine the S6 here though..
Why limit on the S4 if you prefer a larger style?

colour can only ever be a personal preference though, it's just one of those things
