Rick,
Fair comment, but I'll tell you something.
I test drove a regular 1.8 back in Jan 99. Two days later at a dealer nearer me only had the TSport. I got the TSport - and still love it.

However I think you might find that the diff between the A3 tsport and the S3 might be a liuttle like this (?) but hey do it yourself, I am , got my test drive booked for Sat...

Happy option spotting...!!

I'm a small car lover, but not an old man's car lover, a6/s6 is fogie territory, btw what's stupid about leather and sunroof?
oh yeah go and nag your dealer for a test drive in an S3 and an S4 (just be really serious about swopping your car and play it cool and they'll let you test anything) then come back and talk to me, you'll see what I mean, I do love small cars though don't get me wrong the A4 isn't that much bigger than the A3 though in reality, my previous cars have all been small - nova,golf,205.

Lou Lou,
Thanks, will do.
Leather without a/c or climate control in any heat is nightmare..Italy this summer = 36 deg ..hot and unconfortable!!!
also sunroof = bad stability/rigidity for frame...
otherwise can you imagine S3 convertible?

I've got a chipped t sport and the performance is as good as an S but without the lag (smaller turbo @ a higher boost), the chip is like having a new car, it's a v.big difference, £450 well spent.

have leather, A/C and sunroof! I have it works fine, also sunroof doesn't effect rigidity, it doesn't cut through any main struts only sheet metal, also you could use it as a variable wing when tilted! hehe.
