Default Zimmermann is a quality OE supplier... The OEM box may say Audi, its possibly a Zimmermann inside..

This company is a long standing Tier Two supplier to Audi AG, BMW, MB and VW just to name a few. My own experience is with our MY96 S6t Avant. The S6 has a brake upgrade consisting of drilled euro A8 rotors (Zimmermann) and Porsche 993tt Brembo calipers. (The USA spec S6t OE brake setup is a joke.) The past 45k miles with these drilled rotors has been fine... (Due keep in mind that drilled rotors in the S6t road application is ALL show) The 993's drilled rotors are another story, which is entirely functional, yeah baby! now there's a brake setup.. Cheers, Mike

Default I know nothing about Zimmermann. That said, the only brake rotors I've ever seen fail at track days

have beed cross drilled. Some of the failures were quite impressive, and one fragged rotor set the infield grass on fire at Road Atlanta. In the past, the benefits gained from drilling the rotors were worth the reduced rotor life for racing applications to help reduce glazed pads and relieve the off gassing of the pads under extreme condiditions. Now, with the advances in braking tech (mostly pads), cross drilling and slots are not nearly as important for performance.

Default The size given on the web site (239x12) is smaller than the stock rear rotors, let alone the fronts.

I believe the A3 in this item refers to the 1996-1998 Golf/Jetta platform, not the current Audi A3 (which is properly known as the 8P/A5).

Indeed that website is for TDi parts. Those ones you are looking at are for the 3rd gen Golf.

Default cross-drilled = bling

For looks, go ahead, but be sure to check them regularly for the inevitable cracks they will develop.
