Default Anyone Know how to Enable the Launch Control program on the US 3.2 Quattro DSG?

From what I've read, the A3 3.2 Quattro DSG does come with Launch Control and the program to press the ESP button for a moment to turn off traction control and hold down for 3 seconds to turn off the entire ESP system but, not in the US version.I'm not a computer/software savvy person but, in my limited understanding, I believe these functions should be able to be enabled somehow in the ECU? Has anyone heard about this problem, cure? Help please! After reading how well heard the launch control works, I feel cheated after sopending $37k for a car that does have these abilities and not be able to use them! Thanks all, I'm an Audi Newbie.

Default I think we get substantially different ECU coding for North America - and some tuners are looking

at how to insert or recreate that bit of code into our programs. I don't think it's just something that's hidden in your stock ECU. In any case, you can bet that they will be working on the programs for the 2.0T first, since that's a much larger market. You may want to ask HPA or EIP as they seem to work with the VR6 more than most other tuners.

This is just my limited take on it. Maybe others can add or clarify.

You can still switch off much of ESP's functions. Other than drag racing at stop lights, I'm not sure what other useful function can be found by using launch control.

Think of it as a trade-off for our longer warranty (most of the rest of the world only gets a 2 year warranty), and getting the cars for much less money than most other markets.

Default It's a completely different control module inside the transmission housing.....

a TT owner HAD launch control - as he had one of the original TT 3.2's to hit the states. Audi removed it by replacing the entire ECU inside the transmission. It cannot be recoded.

Default Ahhhh. Thanks for the clarification. And I am guessing that the North American engine ECU

cannot talk to the European transmission ECU?

I think it can. Except you have to drop the transmission to replace the TCM.
