rain, it'll close everything down.
I'll assume it's only possible with rain sensing wipers, which I have.
This is def a vag-com feature for other models. But I've never heard about this feature for the A3.
Get ready to lol. My buddy parked his M3 conver in a parking garage at his office. Roof open. Not too bad, no bird **** or chance of rain right? Wrong.
Something triggered the sprinkler system and his car got a little drippy
Hence the question about rain-closing

... and my friends laugh at me for it! hah!
I did enable the remote key open/close feature. The rain-closing would be cooler. Would be nice to VAG-COM it if possible.

R32 for 2008, is capable of this feature with vag-com. cut/paste:::
rain closing:
If you lock the car with the windows and/or sunroof open, and it starts to rain, the sunroof/windows will close.
If 24 hours has passed with the car sitting like that and it hasn't started raining, then the windows/sunroof will close regardless. This is to stop the car from consuming power (by monitoring for rain) and accidentally draining the battery.
The wiper stalk has to be in the "auto" position, aka "intermittent mode".
::::
I guess we could email uwe at ross tech for input.

The Rain Sensing/Closing windows is a one shot deal per Parking cycle.
If you park at the Airport, and leave the windows down, within 24 hours your windows will go up, rain, or no rain.
If you park at the office with the windows down, they will go up if it rains.
Every time you drive, then park, the 24 hour clock starts all over again, and of course, any rain in that 24 hour period cancels the cycle until you drive and park, starting the cycle all over again.

The OpenSky roof has a different controller than the models with conventional sunroofs. That's why there's no auto-close and no rotary switch. I've gone through all the coding at de.openobd.org; it's not gonna happen with our cars.
