Just wanted a confirmation based on my OBD11 reading with my A3 1.4 TFSI and the CAXC engine. Just had a bad experience with an A4 and the EA888 engine chain tensioner/timing chain stretch failure (most likely bent valves) ((( ...Its at Audi awaiting repairs and im pushing for good will, lets hope.
anyway, since that ive been super cautious and I do hear a rattle on cold start up for my little 1.4 tfsi (only when it sits for prolonged periods) Found it too had a chain and tensioner...
So checking the 90,91,92 and 93 fields in the live data for engine, i found this for the intake 1 angle. Its at 5.9%. See attached pic. Am i right to say that the chain is stretched and i should probably be replacing the tensioner and chain ASAP??
I have read that +/- 4% or +/-5% but they are usually related to the EA888 engine. So not 100% sure regarding the 1.4 TSI/TFSI engines.
