Audi A3 8P 1.8TFSI P0221 issue
Looking for some advice. Car is an Audi A3 8P 1.8 TFSI CDAA engine. It is throwing up a P0221 code (again) with an EPC light. Parts that have been replaced: throttle body, inlet manifold PCV, MAP sensor, injectors. Not everything was replaced due to this code, all parts are genuine except for the PCV which is just an eBay one. Throttle body is Febi Bilstein. When I replaced the throttle body we tried adapting it through VCDS and it just said error each time. I then replaced the MAP sensor and the problem went away for a good couple of months and now it's come back. I've not tried the TB adaptation since replacing the MAP sensor. It's an intermittent fault, sometimes I'll have weeks without it, other times I'll get it a few times during the day. I can resolve it by turning the car off and turning it back on with the accelerator pressed in, revving it up to 4k (soft limiter) and then letting it drop back down. The EPC light disappears after a couple of seconds and the car is back to normal. Trying to clear it with an OBD reader doesn't work. When the EPC light comes on you can feel the car is lacking power and will sometimes jerk forwards when you apply the throttle. Sometimes the EPC light comes on with the check engine light. The car will sometimes run a bit lumpy on start up, cold start only, but then runs fine once it's warmed up. Other than this issue the car seems to run sweet. Any ideas? I'm thinking of changing the accelerator pedal and seeing if that does it. Any help is appreciated 😅
